In 2006 John Parker Wilson started all 12 games for the Crimson Tide. John Parker Wilson finished the season with a passing efficiency of 128.92, completing 198-of-346 passes for 2,539 yards, 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions. John Parker Wilson threw for over 200 yards in the first seven games of the season, setting a new school record, and finished with a school record nine 200-yard games. John Parker Wilson had six games with two or more touchdown passes and threw at least one touchdown pass in nine contests. John Parker Wilson also recorded 76 carries for 73 yards with a long of 27. John Parker Wilson finished the season ranked in the top-five of most single season passing categories at Alabama. John Parker Wilson set the school record for passing yards and pass attempts, tied the record for touchdowns and finished third in completions. John Parker Wilson completed 16 of his 29 attempts for 253 yards and a touchdown in his first career start against Hawai’i. John Parker Wilson threw his first career touchdown pass on a 36-yard strike to Keith Brown in Alabama’s 35-14 win at South Carolina. John Parker Wilson 36 yards against USC was a career high. John Parker Wilson threw his second touchdown of the season in Alabama’s 35-3 win over Utah State, a nine-yard pass to Glen Coffee. He recorded a career high 12 snaps in Alabama’s season-opening victory against Middle Tennessee. John Parker Wilson completed a career high three passes for 48 yards, also a career high against Auburn. John Parker Wilson recorded his first collegiate rushing touchdown against Auburn on a one-yard run.

John Parker Wilson was one of three signees from Hoover High School. In 2003, he led the Bucs to the class 6A state title, completing 67 percent of his passes. John Parker Wilson hit on 314 of 467 passes for a state record 3,821 yards and 40 touchdowns. He suffered just 10 interceptions. John Parker Wilson was selected to the Birmingham News’ Super Senior list. In 2003 Wilson was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Alabama and was named to the 2003 Parade All-American team. For his career, John Parker Wilson completed 615 of 978 passes for 8,170 yards and 78 touchdowns. In addition to being an ASWA class 6A and Super All-State selection, he was named 6A Player of the Year by the Montgomery Advertiser and the ASWA back of the year in 6A. John Parker Wilson was also a standout baseball player at Hoover and was drafted by the Florida Marlins after his senior year. John Parker Wilson was an honorable-mention All-State pick as a junior after passing for 2,800 yards and 27 TDs with just 10 interceptions. John Parker Wilson led the Bucs to a 6A State Championship as a junior.
